The Metacognitron

This project represents an answer to the question, “If you were the architect of your own education, what would it look like?” The Metacognitron is a rhizomatic approach to thinking about thinking, and a novel approach to education. Using humans’ capacity for multiple intelligences as a social and physical framework in which to house studios, classrooms, and gathering spaces, this school can be entered from anywhere, accessed in many ways, and experienced without an underlying linear order. A fundamental facet of the education here is the ability - through the experience of the architecture - to assess your own education in real time and become masters of metacognition.
